"Aisha Can't Fly," by Morad Mostafa, is screened as part of Lost Treasures. Aisha, a twenty-six-year-old Sudanese immigrant, works as a caregiver in a neighborhood in the heart of Cairo, marked by tensions between African migrant communities and local gangs. Like the ostriches that appear in the film, almost in the style of magical realism, Aisha cannot fly.
