Naomi Kawase's retrospective continues with "True Mothers," one of her most delicate and sophisticated works: a kaleidoscopic narrative about adoption and the different ways of understanding motherhood. After years of struggling to have a child, Satoko and her husband build a stable life around the little boy they adopted, until years later, the appearance of his biological mother shatters that balance.

The session includes a presentation of the film at the Federico García Lorca Center.
