Set in 1989 Rajasthan, the story takes place seven years after the events of the first film, Raid 1. The obsessively honest Income Tax Inspector Amay Patnaik is transferred to the Bhoj region after a failed operation and a bribery scandal. What seemed like a simple reassignment soon turns into a large-scale investigation. In Bhoj, Amay uncovers a complex criminal and financial network controlled by Dada Bhai, an influential leader admired by the community for his political and philanthropic image. However, behind that facade lies a deeply entrenched system of corruption. But Officer Amay is determined to see it through in a dazzling Bollywood production.

Raj Kumar Gupta is an Indian director and screenwriter renowned for his work in the Bollywood industry, where he has distinguished himself by tackling stories with strong social and political themes. He debuted as a director in 2008 with Aamir, a film that received significant critical acclaim for its narrative tension and realistic portrayal of contemporary society. Following that initial success, Gupta focused on screenwriting for several years and participated in notable projects such as No One Killed Jessica (2011), which was screened at the fifth edition of the Cines del Sur Festival, a drama inspired by one of India's most high-profile and controversial murder cases. In 2018, he returned to directing with Raid, a legal and police thriller that became one of his major box office successes. This year, he presents its sequel, Raid 2, at Cines del Sur.
