Four women, aged between 18 and 55, star in this story set in a small Indian city. The first is a young university student who strives to become a pop singer, within a strict Muslim family. The second is an oppressed housewife, who tries to balance her household duties with a sales job, facing a husband who spends more time out of the house than in it. The third portrays a young woman about to enter an arranged marriage, who dreams of leaving her city, having fallen in love with a photographer with whom she begins a relationship. And finally, a widow who loves romantic novels, rediscovers the passion she thought was lost. In a realistic way, rarely seen in the Indian film market, filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava openly discusses the struggle of four women to gain their freedom in a world dominated by men and traditions.
